The Starlights first encounter of the season proved to be not a game of two halves but rather a game of one half with almost all of the scoring being done in the first period and Ballyhogue having the best of the exchange scoring 5-2 to Starlights 6points.

In the second half both teams actually disimproved with Stars only notching up 2 points after a series of dreadful wides and Ballyhogue only adding another 4 to their tally to make the score at the final whistle 5-6 to 8 points. Nothing much to lighten the heart here but its only our first game and theres a long season to go - welcome back to Daithi O'Brien and Eamonn Furlong nice to see ye back in the red and yellow and welcome to newcomer James Carthy who performed well in his inaugural outing with the Starlights. Our Seniors are out again on Saturday 21st at 4.30pm against Bannow/Ballymitty and our Juniors are playing Castletown B on Sunday 22nd at 12am.
