Rapps u/16 turned out on sunday 17 may against Buffers Alley needing a win to get things back on track.

The first half we played against the wind and led at half time 1-6 to 1-4.

In the first half the backs were under a lot of pressure but played very well and kept the alley to long range shooting. While at the other end Tom Ryan and Richard Farrell were very good with Richard getting a good goal just before the break.

The lads started the second half thinking they had the game won in the first half and were not up to the pace of things.

They let the alley get a couple of easy points but then they came to life and both Dee Cullen and Dale Galway started to win the midfield battle.

Up front Jamie Fox spung into life with some great points on the run. The introduction of Conor Ronan and Kevin Foley seemed to even strenghten the team with young Kevin scoring a goal with his first touch.

We started to pull away then and when young McCrea entered late in the half he equalled Foleys feat with a goal with his first touch.

Overall the mentors were happy as the lads displayed a great team spirit and played as a team rather than as individuals. Final score 4-12 to 1-7. Well done lads.
