Horeswood 2-10 Rapparees 2-10

It was a bitterly cold Horeswood last Sunday that saw the first run out for the Junior Hurling A team, we were hard hit with injuries and absentees and could field only the bare fifteen.

John James Dunne won the toss and decided to hurl against the wind and the team did very well going into the break 6 points down.  We had all the possession in the second half but were wasteful at times and though we clawed back the 6 point deficit we could not draw away.  The game finished all square at 2-10 apiece.

Richard Murphy showed some great touches up front with John James Dunne and Oisin Carley supplying a lot of ball, Cathal Murphy did well in the middle, Mark Redmond was best of the half backs and Damian Barron gave a very solid display as a stand in corner back.

Newcomers to the grade, Colin Cooper, Pat Higgins and transferee Jim O‘Connor all showed great promise.
