In a wet and windy Ballymurn our U17s took on the home side on Sunday last at 1.30 in that infamous winter competition known as the Jim Byrne cup and gave an excellent account of themselves and an exhibition of football beating the oppostiton 7.12 to 2.4.

Albeit, early days in this competition - this being our first outing one would nevertheless have to say looking at the strength and depth of this side with players like Naoise Dunbar, Mel Doyle, Richie Farrell, Brendan Kearney, Timmy Dwyer, Dale Galway, Willie Dunne, Anthony Roche and others that there chances would have to be good to finish up in the final stages. Only time will tell. There was no shortage of talent on the sideline either with mentors like Jack Redmond/Ed Doran/Nicky Kehoe/Purt Doyle/David Wall and Billy Morrissey. Keep up the good work lads - this is not a competition for the faint hearted and takes committment and dedication and sheer grit to stick with it.
