Starlights were off to their winning ways again making it to the final of the Jim Byrne Cup seeing off stern opposition in Ballinastragh Gaels - a combination of Tara Rocks and Killanerin on Sunday last in Killanerin.
After a slow start and depleted by injury with M.J. Doyle/Brendan Kearney and Conor McDonald out - Stars looked to be under pressure trailing by 1pt with 12 minutes remaining on the clock. Enter supersub Kevin Foley - first ball he gets he is awarded a free - one unfortunately that we fail to convert - however all is not lost as he goals minutes later and shortly after puts the finishing touches to a good ball into the square - another goal! And Starlights are on their way to another final - 3.4 to 10 points! Well done to Tom Ryan who had to line out in the goal in the absence of Conor McDonald and did his bit keeping his net clear. The final is against the Shelmaliers in about 3 weeks time. Well done to all the lads and their mentors for making this possible.
