It was Saturday again, it was an early start again, it was the Martins again - the only difference was the venue and the code as our Juvenile hurlers sought to annex the county U/16 title.

Our Juvenile hurlers beat Monageer comprehensively on Tuesday night last and came out eventual winners by the narrowest of margins against Buffers Alley in Bellefield on Sunday morning in a tough, hard fought endeavour 1.10 to 12 points. This was a closely contested game from start to finish with each team exchanging point after point until the final whistle.

Our juvenile hurlers won out on Sunday morning against St. Martins in Bellefield – after a great first half 3.5 to 1.2 but seemed to lose their way a little in the second period still managing to emerge eventual winners 3.9 to 2.6, in the first encounter in Juvenile hurling.

Well done to our U/16 hurlers who beat Na Fianna of Dublin in a practice match over the weekend by 2 points. Unfortunately, our U/12s and U/14s couldn’t follow suit on Sunday both of them going down in practice matches to Mount Sion of Waterford. But keep up the good work lads and success will come soon for you.
