After a promising start our Senior Footballers were beaten in the B Championship semi final by Gusserane in New Ross.
We had a half time lead of 3 points - at 7 points to 4 - but emerged from the dressingroom a changed team and appeared to be asleep for the first 12 minutes of the second half allowing Gusserane their purple patch scoring 1-4 in 7 minutes. The match finished 3-11 to 1-12. |

The old adage ` fortune favours the brave ` held true for the Starlights last weekend in Oylegate when they gave a committed and trojan performance in the second period to counteract the sending off of Cathal Murphy and to clinch the victory over Glynn/Barntown and secure their place in the B Championship closing stages and avoid relegation.

On Friday evening last our Senior Footballers took on Killanerin in the League at Patricks Park – with many of our players missing on the night through injury or otherwise we were not at full strength and were not in any way able for the stronger and fitter opposition and were beaten 3.13 to 1.9. |

Not the start we would have wanted to our Championship hopes as our Senior Footballers lost the first round of the campaign to a fitter Gusserane in Rathnure on Sunday afternoon 1.16 to 1.8.
Plagued by injuries the Stars were well in contention with 10 minutes to go and only 3 points down but fitness levels told in the final stages as the Stars just ran out of steam. Its an uphill battle from here but it is there if we want to put in the effort. |
