Weekend Football

What a wonderful beginning to what we hope will be a good year at Bellefield with all 3 Starlights teams notching up convincing victories in the 1st Round of this seasons All County Leagues.

Our Senior footballers were the first out at 3pm in Bellefield on Saturday beating the Sarsfields 3.14 to 4 points.

Our Junior footballers had no problem following suite against the same opposition at 4.30pm winning their encounter 4.11 to 1.4. And on Sunday our new look Junior B team had an overwhelming first win over Tara Rocks at Bellefield 7.13 to 1.4.

Lovely to see guys like Sean `Bosco`Crotty and James `Jamie` Doyle making a return to gaelic football and Kevin Courtney line out for the Starlights for the first time since he was a minor, the father and son combination of Maurice and Graham Donohoe and the brother combination of Barry and Michael Nolan at this level.

To have 22 players turn up for our first game of the year is an achievement in itself so -well done to all concerned over the weekend
