Not the start we would have wanted to our Championship hopes as our Senior Footballers lost the first round of the campaign to a fitter Gusserane in Rathnure on Sunday afternoon 1.16 to 1.8.

Plagued by injuries the Stars were well in contention with 10 minutes to go and only 3 points down but fitness levels told in the final stages as the Stars just ran out of steam. Its an uphill battle from here but it is there if we want to put in the effort.
