Junior Football v Shels July 16 PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 19 July 2010 09:09

Another good win in the Championship this week for our Junior Footballers beating Shelmaliers in St. Patricks Park on Friday evening last 5.12 to 6.2 with outstanding performances from many of our players.

Great scores coming came from Paul Byrne, Tony Mackey and Man of the Match Oisin Carley and it's nice to see that Eoin Quigley can notch them up effectively in both codes. Veteran Damian Mahon came on as a sub and his years of experience told had a definite influence on the final result.

The junior footballers came through a tough encounter getting the upperhand on Bannow/Ballymitty in the final minutes of the first round of the Championship on Friday night last in Grantstown.

After a sluggish start the Stars put in a spirited performance in the second half to end up winning well 2.5 to 4 points.

A good mixture of youth and experience, a first win under their belts will bring this team on in leaps and bounds. Well done lads.
