The junior footballers came through a tough encounter getting the upperhand on Bannow/Ballymitty in the final minutes of the first round of the Championship on Friday night last in Grantstown.

After a sluggish start the Stars put in a spirited performance in the second half to end up winning well 2.5 to 4 points.

A good mixture of youth and experience, a first win under their belts will bring this team on in leaps and bounds. Well done lads.
