Rapparees 1-09                 Shelmaliers 1-09

Well done to Tomas McVeigh and his fellow selectors Robert Byrne and Mossy Rigley and our Junior Hurlers who kept their championship hopes alive yesterday drawing with the Shelmaliers at 1.9 each in Monamolin and living to fight another day.

Rapparees had a lot of possession during this game with Adrian Fenlon dominating the midfield and young Kevin Ryan punishing any indiscretions by the Shels.  

The weather conditions and some indecisive play on our behalf meant that we never really capitialised on the possession. The sides went in 1-06 to 0-07 in our favour after Seanie O Gorman scored a knacky goal.  

We were five points up with about 15 minutes to go but Shelmailers slipped in for a goal reducing the difference to two and all to play for.  

Our players tried hard but could make very little headway and only managed three points (two frees) in the second half while the Shels scored a goal and two points in the same period.  

A close and tough match which will make the replay something to look forward to.

The replay will be played next Saturday 22nd Oct at 2pm in Monamolin
