A most memorable night of celebration was held at Bellefield GAA Complex on Friday night 2nd Dec as our victorious Juvenile Footballers received their County medals having taken the Juvenile title for the third year running, from the passionate and eloquent Senior County Football Manager Jason Ryan, and our terrific Minor Hurlers, who clinched the coveted title for the Club after a gap of 21 years, received theirs from the equally passionate and most successful County Camogie Manager JJ Doyle, ably assisted in this task by the beautiful and talented All Ireland winner Aoife O`Connor.
Both Managers when addressing the large audience of parents, players and club well wishers complimented Juveniles and Minors on their respective wins and on the level of talent and skill they portrayed in both finals but stressed that it would all be to no avail if they couldn’t commit to the adult ranks and progress to senior success.
Chairman John Browne and Coiste na Nog Chairman Tommy Foley thanked everyone involved players, parents, selectors for the tremendous effort in 2011 with Tommy commenting on the fact that we are in the lucky position of never having to hire a bus to take our players to games as their parents always travel with them. John thanked sponsors Tomas Kinsella and Sam McCauley for their wonderful support and tremendous contributions to our success over many years. The celebrations went on into the night with food provided by James Donnelly and music with Joe Murphy. Might I take the opportunity on behalf of the club to thank Jason, JJ and Aoife for taking time out from their busy schedules to be with us and to make the night special, and a special thank you to County hurler Keith Rossiter for being there to celebrate with us and honour these marvellous players and their outstanding achievements.
