At the monthly meeting of the County Board in Bellefield last Tuesday night ratification was given to Chairman Ger Doyle and the Management Committee to propose Bellefield for `second pitch status` in the County.

All Counties have been asked by Croke Park to officially nominate a second pitch and we are delighted that Bellefield has been chosen here in Wexford and I would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to all the members of County Board. This of course has to be sanctioned by Croke Park and we at Bellefield look forward to the announcement very soon.

This is indeed an honour for Bellefield and we envisage that this prestigious position will be of great benefit not alone to us as a Club but to the town of Enniscorthy as a whole and will breathe new life into the general area in these difficult times.
