Under 12 Football
5 August 2004
The Under 12's played their last match in the league stage of the championship on Thurs last against the Shells and probably put up their worst performance of the year suffering a bad defeat. Despite the loss they have still qualified for the semi finals and are down to meet the Shells again on Sun 22nd.
The lads know they let themselves down the last day and cannot wait to get another crack at the Shells and they know if they perform to their best they can reach the final.

Stars V Kilmore
Our next match was at home to Kilmore. We were very under strength for this match and had to draw on some of our younger players (Martin Doyle, Fionn Carthy and Patrick O Shea) to field a team. Thanks lads. Even with players missing the lads out he pitch did not let it stop them putting in a fine performance and they went on to an easy win.

St Martins V Stars
Our next match was away to the Martin's on a very windy night. The conditions did not suit us as we play a very quick passing game and on the night we could not get the movement going. The Martins led throughout the game but the lads battled hard and in last minute Jamie Fox scored a great point to earn us a share of the points. It was a hard fought point and the lads knew after the game that they should have won the match but for some missed chances.

Stars V Sarsfields
We had the Sarsfields at home next and the lads put the loss the week before behind them and played some excellent football to come out easy winners by a score of 2-10 to 0-5. The team as a whole played very well but Jack Kelly was very good at wing forward. Well done lads!

St Anne's V Stars
The under 12 championship stared two weeks ago with a trip to St. Annes. In what turned out to be a very good and skillfull game of football the Annes came out close winners by 0.14 to 1.8. The Starlights put up a good fight with some excellent work from Jamie Fox, Diarmuid Cullen and Patrick Tobin in goal.
