This was a welcome win after disappointments at Under 12 and under 16 during the week. It was a very close game with the Rapps only getting the upper hand with ten minutes to go.
St Martins went in leading by a point at half time and it looked to be an uphill battle for our lads but fine displays up the middle from Andrew Kelly, Joe Cullen (three goals) and James Peare saw off the Martins challenge.
Aaron Ronan was all action up front and Barry Nolan and John Ryan mopped up a lot of ball in the back line. The game was a pleasure to watch and a credit to the under 14 panel who gave their all for the win.

Under 14 Hurling
Oulart 2-09 V Rapparees 2-04
There was a delayed start to this match, the appointed referee failed to turn up and Peadar Lacey of Oulart took up the whistle. Oulart pointed with the first ball of the game and had run up three before Aaron Ronan raised a white flag for the Rapps. There was a good shower of rain which made the going greasy. Goals were exchanged and at halftime Oulart led 1-06 to 1-01. The contest was more even in the second half with some good hard hurling but shooting on both sides was not great.
John Ryan, Brendan Doyle, Barry Nolan and Thomas Collins all showed well in the back line while Joe Cullen tried but Aaron Ronan was easily our best player on the night.
