Minor Hurling Championship
Bellefield Wednesday 8th September 2004
Rapps 1-7 Ferns 2-10
We didn't perform on the night and Ferns took full advantage. We had chances in the second half but we missed them. Ferns however were always the better team and we were always playing second fiddle. Some players tried hard but we didn't have enough giving it their all.

Rapps V Duffry Rovers
Dreadful performance and result from the minor hurlers, having been a point ahead at half time and not having played well we expected a greater effort in the second half.
However it was the Duffy who showed the greater committment and skill and we were beaten by seven points in the end. It was a well below par preformance that can't be repeated if we are to qualify.
Bellefield Wednesday 18 August
Rapps 2-12 Oulart / The Ballagh 3-13
Disappointment for the minor hurlers last night in an entertaining, skilful and tough encounter against Oulart. The lads played well throughout but will be disappointed with the goals they conceded. Looking back, there was a period after half time when we completely dominated proceedings but hit five wides and then allowed Oulart to take the first score of the second half. On the bright side improvements can be made and we are unlikely to come across a better side in the championship so the door is not closed yet.
Bellefield Tuesday 13 July
Rapps 0-10 Rathnure 2-4
This was the first outing for the minor hurlers in this years championship. As is usual playing Rathnure the opening quarter was a tight affair with some hard fast hurling being done by both sides.
In the second and third quarters the Rapps put over some fine points and had put a little daylight between themselves and Rathnure leading 9pts to 3pts. However to the dismay of all in the field Peter O Sullivan was sent off and for the final 15 minutes Rathnure took full advantage of the extra man.
Rathnure scored 2 goals and a point to take the lead going into the final minutes. The Rapps kept on trying to the end and were final rewarded with a deserved draw when Ricky Fox pointed to tie the game.

Minor Hurling League Semi-Final
Oulart 2-12 V Rapparees 1-03
This was a cold and windy evening the Minors would rather forget. Oulart started with the wind and got straight into the game making the most of the opportunities that came their way and punishing all our indiscretions. We were 1-10 to 0-01 down at half time and were unable to take advantage of the strong wind in the second half and let Oulart knock up a big score.
There were a few key absences but we need more hurling and want to be stronger on the ball. Ed Tobin and Declan Barron tried hard and Kevin Courtney put down a marker for his place on the team.

Rapparees 1-09 V Faythe Harriers 1-05
Minors were out again on Friday evening and had a good but hard fought win over a stubborn Faythe Harriers team. The result was anything but certain up to the final whistle.
Rapps started without a number of players through County commitments, soccer playoffs and injuries but nonetheless managed to field a strong side.
Stephen Murphy was solid at fullback, Kevin Walshe was ice cool at centre back, Ed Tobin covered at lot of ground in midfield while Kevin Mythen, Ricky Fox and Lee Murphy caught the eye up front.

Minor Hurling League V Shelmaliers 16 April 2004
Rapps 3-7 Shelmaliers 2-6
Minor hurlers took on the Shelmaliers in Bellefield on Friday evening. This was the first time for Mentors Tómas Kinsella, Padraig Doyle, Damien Mahon and Tómas McVeigh to see something like the team they could put out in the championship. Rapps started well and goaled early on but the Shels fought hard and had poor shooting to blame when they went in at half time a point down. They came out fighting in the second half and soon had our boys in arrears but once again the Rapparees upped their game and went on to get a four point win.
Ed Tobin, Declan Barron, Kevin Walshe, Ricky Fox and Eoin Quigley played best for the Rapparees. Kevin Mythen showed well at times and was unlucky to receive two yellow cards and be sent off with just minutes to go. A good display overall but the ring rustiness of some of our better players was quiet evident.
Pa Doyle, Emmett Kenny, Stephen Murphy, Fiacre Ryan, Kevin Walshe, Eoin Quigley, Declan Barron Cathal Murphy, Ed Tobin, Peter O Sullivan, Lee Murphy, Brian Newe, Ricky Fox, Kevin Mythen, Kevin Courtney
James Newe for Emmett Kenny (injury), Fran O Gorman for Brian Newe, Karl Cullen for Kevin Courtney.

Minor Hurling League V Rathnure 2 April 2004
The Minor hurlers commenced their league games on Friday evening last with an away match versus Rathnure.
The squad was greatly depleted due to other committments and injury however the team which fielded six Juveniles put up a great performance in the first half playing against a strong wind and only trailed by three points at half time 5pts to 2pts.
During the half time interval it was discovered that both Kevin Walsh and Ger Foley could not continue playing due to injuries sustained.
During the second half the defecit was reduced to 2pts but scores proved every hard to come by and with ten minutes to go Rathnure got through for a goal that effectively killed off the game.
The final result was Rathnure 1-7 Rapparrees 5pts. The team tried every hard and with that continued effort it is expected they can win their remaining matches. Much credit is due to all the Juveniles that played and to the rest of the team as they kept playing to the final whistle.
