League Fixtures

The league semi finals & finals are fixed as follows:

Hurling Semi-Final dates as per fixtures plan May 31st & June 4th & 5th

Hurling Finals June 9th 10th & 11th

Football Semi-Finals June 7th & 8th
Football Finals June 15th 16th

The semi-finals pairings for all leagues will be the top team in Group A playing the second team in Group B and top team in Group B playing second team in group A. The venue for all semi-finals will be that of the top team in each group with the home club charging on the gate and dividing the takings with the other team after paying the referee.

The members of the CCCC committee are aware that there have been dissatisfaction over the last few years with the manner in which the finals were staged and to give a new meaning and status to the finals we are proposing the following:

The finals will take place at neutral venues with 2 games at each venue. County Board will be responsible for organising all activities for the games including the gates with a minimal fee of €5 for admission.

Feile na nGael

Well done to the under 14 hurlers who won the Slaney hurling festival and earned their place in the Feile na Gael for the first time in six years. Outstanding in the final were Michael O'Connor, Timmy Dwyer, Kevin Foley & Kevin Ryan but it was a great team effort all around. Well done lads!

We are in Division 1 Section A and will actually be hosted by a Kilkenny Club (despite Laois/Offaly being the hosts). Also in our group are the Tipp champions and another Kilkenny Club.

Model County Draw

Well done to Tina Crosbie and Ger Mitchell on scooping Model County Draw prizes. the club also picked up E200 on one of our own tickets.

Senior Hurling Sunday May 4th
Over a dozen missed frees was the tale of the tape as our lads went down to the Alley at home by 0-11 to 0-16. IT was a good tough performance other than that though which gives us hope for the championship.

Junior Hurling Saturday May 3rd

Well done to the Junior A hurlers who are going really well this year. They came away from Bellefield on Saturday evening with a 3-11 to 2-10 win over Liam Mellows who are never esy to overcome. Keep it up lads.

Junior Football Thursday April 24

On Thursday evening our Junior Footballers took on Blackwater in Bellefield and were beaten by the narrowest of margins 12 pts to 2.7 despite putting in a good second half performance.

Senior Hurling Saturday April 19th

Our Senior hurlers saved the day beating Ferns in Ferns 16pts to 1.8. This was a hard fought game in dreadful conditions reminiscent more of November evenings than April and our lads did extremely well to notch up the victory – with Adrian Fenlon and Declan Ruth working well in defence – Liam Boland and Peter O`Sullivan proving a good middle of the field combination and Tomas Mahon in sparkling form up front aided by Richard Murphy/Davy Morrissey/Shay Deegan and Cathal Murphy who all sent over some lovely scores. Keep it up lads you are going well.

Junior B Hurling Saturday April 19th

Our Junior B hurlers followed suit in Bellefield later that evening at 5pm losing out to Oulart 3.16 to 1.7. We had quite a strong team out for this grade but we were promoted last year while Oulart were relegated so we're struggling in the higher division.

U10 Camogie Saturday April 19th

On Saturday morning our U/10 Camogie team played Craanford in Bellefield and unfortunately went down to the much stronger side 8.1 to 3 goals.

U14 Football Friday April 18th

On Friday evening our U/14 footballers travelled to Piercestown to take on the Martins and beat them 2.5 to 1.4.

Ladies Football Thursday April 17th

Congratulations to our Ladies Footballers who took on the Shamrocks on Thursday evening last and notched up a marvellous win 7.12 to 2 points. Well done to Michael Nolan our new trainer who had his charges in sparkling form - they are not called Starlights for nothing!
